Analytics
I use two analytics tools to understand which pages are read. Neither sets cookies.
- Rybbit (rybbit.io), a hosted service. It records the pages you view, the site that referred you, your browser, operating system and screen size, and an approximate location (country and region). Rybbit uses your IP address only briefly to estimate that location and states that it doesn’t store it.
- Independent Analytics, a plugin that runs on this site. It records page views and referrers in this site’s own database and sends nothing to outside servers. To recognise repeat visits, it creates a one-way hashed ID from your IP address and browser details; the IP address itself isn’t stored.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, the site collects your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message, together with your browser and operating system type. Your IP address isn’t recorded. The message is emailed to me, and a copy is kept on the site so I can reply. The server’s log of sent emails is deleted after 30 days.
Project brief form
The detailed project brief form stores the answers and any files you upload on this site, together with your IP address, which the form plugin records. It’s used only to understand and reply to your project enquiry.
How long I keep messages
I keep enquiries for as long as they’re needed to respond and for any work that follows. You can ask me to delete yours at any time.
Stored in your browser
The site remembers two things in your own browser, and neither is sent anywhere: your light or dark theme choice (local storage), and a flag that stops the homepage’s opening animation from replaying during the same visit (session storage).
Fonts and embedded content
Fonts are served from this site, not from Google. The site doesn’t embed videos, social media widgets or advertising.
Links to other sites
Some links lead to other services with their own privacy policies. The Recommended hosting page uses affiliate links, so the hosting provider may record that you arrived from this site. If you choose to support my work through Buy Me a Coffee or PayPal, the payment is handled entirely by them, and I receive only the details they share with creators.
Your rights
You can ask me what information I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing hi@rabinpal.com. I’ll reply within a reasonable time.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will show it.
